Community rules
This is a place to practise a language with a stranger. Keep it usable for everyone and it stays worth using.
You must be 18 or older
This service is for adults. If you are under 18, do not use it. If you believe you are talking to a minor, end the chat and report it.
Not allowed
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or abuse of any kind
- Sexual content, or any sexual approach to another user
- Sharing anyone's personal information, including your own
- Spam, advertising, scams, or links to them
- Anything illegal
Reporting and blocking
Every chat has Block and Report. Blocking means you are never matched with that person again. Reporting sends the recent messages from the conversation to our moderators so they can act, and blocks the person as well.
Reports can lead to a temporary or permanent ban. Filing false reports to punish someone is itself a violation.
What we store
Chats with strangers are never stored. Messages travel between the two browsers and are gone when the chat ends. We could not show them to you again if you asked.
Conversations with a friend are stored for 15 days, so you can pick up where you left off. They are deleted the moment either of you removes the friendship or blocks the other.
When someone files a report, the recent messages from bothsides are attached to it so our moderators can see what happened. This works the same way for stranger and friend chats.
We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number. Your browser holds a random ID so that blocks, bans, and your friends list can work; it is not linked to your identity. Your friends list lives in this browser only — clearing your site data or using a different browser starts you over with an empty list.
